Azerbaijan will host the Annual Assembly and Conference of the International Association of Authorized Economic Customs and Logistics Operators

The Republic of Azerbaijan will host another international customs event from May 2-4, 2018. In Baku, the country's capital will host the annual Assembly and Conference of the International Association of Authorized Economic Customs and Logistics Operators.

A delegation from the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan made a working visit to Barcelona from February 13 to 14 in the framework of the work for the organization of this event. During the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation held bilateral meetings with the Barcelona Free Trade Zone Consortium and Spanish businessmen and the direction of the international commission of the organization "Foment del Treball Nacional", which represents the large industrial companies of Catalonia, as well as the City Council of Barcelona, ??the Port of Barcelona. During the meetings, detailed information was provided on Azerbaijan's logistics opportunities, the international transport corridors, the modern maritime trade port, as well as its history, culture and geography.

The Republic of Azerbaijan is located in the eastern part of the South Caucasus, on the western coast of the Caspian Sea, the largest lake in the world. The territory of Azerbaijan is a rich source for archaeologists. The excavations at the Azij cave in Karabakh revealed traces of human civilization 2 million years ago in Azerbaijan.

Science and education in Azerbaijan have a centuries-old history. The State University of Baku, which opened in 1919, and the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences, established in 1945, played an important role in the development of science, education and culture in the Republic.

Azerbaijan is also known for its rich architecture. Each period of the country's history has maintained a certain footprint. The monuments of the era of Caucasian Albania are still preserved. In many museums around the world, samples of decorative art by Azerbaijani masters are exhibited, made of metal, ceramics, silk and wood.

When talking about Azerbaijan, the first thing that comes to mind is oil, its main wealth. Azerbaijan plays an important role in the energy security of Europe and has become a logistic center of great importance in the Caspian region and the Caucasus, creating a qualitatively new economic model in the development of the region, expanding its political and commercial relations between Europe and Asia, developing the transport corridor of the Caucasus and implementing large-scale projects.

With the initiative and participation of Azerbaijan, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project, a part of the historic Silk Road, considered as the project of the century, were built. XXI. At present, with the active participation of Azerbaijan, the South Caucasus oil pipeline projects, TANAP and TAP, are being implemented, the main components of the Southern Gas Corridor. The country's customs service plays an important role in ensuring the economic progress and security of modern Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani Customs Service was founded on January 30, 1992.
